Bishop's General Election11 December 2019 (by admin) |
The children have been taking part in their very own General Election today. Every child had a chance to vote for the party they want to form the next government.
We learn about the British Values at school and two of them are very important when thinking about the General Election- Democracy and The Rule of Law. The children had an overview of the General Election and why people are going to be voting. They then heard a bit about 4 of the main parties and had a chance to vote. Some of the reasons given for their votes showed how well they had been listening-
'This party said they would have more homes for people. I think everyone should have a home'
'The party said they would spend more money on the Health Service and this will mean my medicine will get to me quicker.'
'This party said they would have a 4 day working week!'
Have you made up your mind yet? Maybe your amazing children can help you to decide!
