After designing our buildings, children investigated ways to join materials together in Design and Technology lessons.  This included experimenting with different techniques.  These included using different knots to join bamboo sticks with string and using marshmallows to combine skewers and cocktail sticks, as well as utilising the hot glue gun to fix dowelling pieces together.   There was a good deal of lively debate that took place in our post-discussion evaluation; it was decided that marshmallows are too sticky for the job.   Our buildings are really taking shape now and we look forward to testing them when they are completed.
