Today year five developed their inference skills with an activity called 'Tabletop Twitter'.
Year five were given pictures and short extracts of text with question prompts. They then had the opportunity to 'tweet' their thoughts and ideas onto paper, followed by their name (handle). Other pupils then read the original tweets and responded by either agreeing or disagreeing and explaining why. Other pupils started a completely new thread. Part of the challenge was that this was a silent activity, where the conversation took place through tweets on paper.
