Inventors and Pioneers have spent the day celebrating 'Earth Day'. They have been amazing at carefully considering and discussing the importance of sustainability, conservation and our planet.
The theme this year is 'OUR POWER, OUR PLANET' and Earth Day 2025 is asking everyone to unite around renewable energy. With this in mind, the children have carried out their own research about the aspects of Earth Day they think are most important to them and also thought carefully about the use of materials in our Science lessons, focusing on what renewable materials are and how we can make more sustainable choices. The children have also written their own haiku and acrostic poems about the problems our planet faces and ways we can help make a change.
It has been fantastic to hear the ideas and discussions Inventors and Pioneers have had and to see how passionate they are about making a change to help our planet. A massive well done to all in Years 5/6 for your kind and thoughtful approach to our learning today and your eagerness to help pave the way for a cleaner and more sustainable future for us all!
