Today, Voyagers and Discoverers took part in Safer Internet day by looking at the theme 'Too good to be true? Protecting yourself and others from scams online'.
Voyagers and Discoverers took part in activities that encouraged them to think about how trustworthy emails, texts, pop-ups, links on games and phone calls can be. We learnt about what the term 'phishing' meant and why people do it. They children thoughtfully discussed the impact falling for a phishing message could have on someone. We learnt about some of the signs that an email, message, links etc could be a phishing scam and the children then become great detectives at spotting these in a range of messages. We were very impressed and the children demonstrated that they definitely know how to stay safe online.
