Impressionist Art17 January 2025 (by admin) |
Children in Years 5 & 6 have started researching famous impressionist artists in preparation for their own impressionist style paintings later on this half term.
The children were very enthusiastic and able to comment on line, tone, shape and form when looking at different paintings. Although they looked at works by artists such as Renoir, Degas, Sisley, Morisot and Bazille, their main focus was on Claude Monet and his work. The children particularly liked looking at images where he had painted the same scene many times to capture the changing light and seasons. It was lovely to see the children so immersed in their research and we look forward to seeing the impressionist inspired artwork they create later on the term!
