Years 5 and 6 have been working really hard in Geography this half term, looking at how we use different resources around the world.
Our most valuable resource is water. The children used their super Atlas skills to locate different mountains in the UK and used various maps to identify where in our country is wettest and driest . They were ale to discuss how water is accessed in different areas of the country too. The children used their knowledge of more and less affluent countries to compare water usage and were most disgusted to hear about cholera outbreaks in Birmingham during the Industrial Revolution. The children showed great empathy towards those that do not have access to clean water and had some lovely ideas about how they could use water more carefully in their own lives to ensure its sustainability.
