RHE - The power of words27 September 2024 (by admin) |
The children thought very carefully about how their words can build others up or bring them down.
The children were very responsible and mature as they discussed how the words of others could affect them or those around them. We looked specifically at some of the words and names that children had mentioned made them feel unhappy or uncomfortable, and words that they were more likely to come across on the playground.
A bruised apple was used to represent the damage that words can do to someone on the inside, although they may appear ok on the outside.
The children also used toothpaste coming out of the tube as a means of showing that once the words have been said, even an apology can't put the words back in.
