Over the last couple of weeks, Inventors and Pioneers have been writing their own 'fake news' newspaper reports.
The children have worked really hard to include the 5 W's (Who, What, Where, When and Why) in their writing and ensured that their news stories were told chronologically. Despite knowing all their stories were made up, their aim was to convince their partners that the event they were writing about had really happened. They did a great job of sharing their stories and their use of quotes and 'scientific language' really helped them convince their partners that their reports could be real. It was fantastic to hear their discussions around how some news may not always be completely accurate and how good writing can make 'fake news' stories seem newsworthy. Great job Years 5 and 6 - super reporting!
