The children conducted fieldwork on Luxton's Step and around the village.
The children started their day with a walk down to Luxton's Step, right next to the River Teign. Here, we looked carefully at different geographical features that we could spot and discussed whether they were human or physical. They produced some superb field sketches of the areas surrounding the river.
Later we plotted a route around the village on our OS maps and navigated there by looking for landmarks and using our compass skills. We considered which parts of the village were marked on our maps and what symbols were used to represent these.
Throughout the morning, the children were brilliant and developed a wide variety of geographical skills, which we will continue to revisit and practise throughout the rest of this half term.
