Inventors and Pioneers have been very lucky to have a special visit from the Devon School Library Services this week!
Following on our from our World Book Day discussions around our love of reading at Bishop, Years 5 and 6 have spent a morning exploring different genres of books and deciding which books they would like to have in our library to read. The children moved around different stations looking at books containing 'fascinating facts', 'realistic stories', 'funny books', 'wild about animals', 'adventure and mystery' and 'magical adventure'. It was brilliant to see them discussing the blurbs and making inferences and predictions around what they thought the stories might be about based on the front covers. The children have loved having a say in the books that are available to them and we can't wait to see some of the titles that intrigued them most in our library!
