In our Science learning we have been looking at how plants and animals have adapted to suit their environment over time.
In our Science lesson this week, Inventors and Pioneers had great fun putting Darwin's 'survival of the fittest' theory to the test to determine which 'beak' was the best for eating 'food'. Using different tools to represent different beak styles, the children had 30 seconds to gather as much 'food' as they could to feed their hungry birds. This was a great way for them to decide which style of beak was best equipped for different types of food and reflect on how this may have affected the types of beak birds have today. We had great fun carrying out this experiment and are looking forward to more learning about evolution and inheritance!
