During snack time this week we enjoyed 'noticing' and tasting a selection of breads from around the world.
As a hook into our literacy unit, the Little Red Hen left us a special basket of bread!
This was a great opportunity to share experiences and to explore new words to describe the taste and texture of the different breads. Lots of the children thought that the brown bread (rye) might be chocolate flavour! The answer was in the taste test!
We also talked about how brown bread has lots of fibre and how this is a good food choice in helping our body and stomach to keep healthy.
