Much excitement has been had watching the caterpillars munch away on their food!
In the space of a week the caterpillars have become enormous! When we arrived to school on Monday the caterpillars had started to attach themselves to the lid of the pot. By Monday evening, something amazing had happened....the caterpillars had started to develop into a (cocoon) chrysalis. We are excited to watch and wait! We used our class calendar to predict how many days it may take until we see our first butterfly emerge! We talked about using the word ‘metamorphosis’ to describe the process of transformation.
