    Pollination Station...

    8 June 2023 (by admin)

As part of "Our Community" topic this half term KS1 have been planting a pollinator friendly garden to make sure they have enough food and water. This week's focus is "Our Community; Our Environment"

The children found out about pollinators and why they are so important to our environment before researching different plants that attract certain types of pollinators. We focused on bees and found out their favourite colours are blues and purples and that they are also attracted to particular types of flowers and herbs. We made sure to plant lots of their favourite flowers and herbs as well as making attractive watering holes filled with pebbles for them to stand on as they take a well-deserved drink in this lovely, hot weather. We will continue to water and look after our garden, and we are excited to see what pollinators will be using it.
