World Ocean Day8 June 2023 (by admin) |
Thursday 8th June was World Ocean Day for schools and the Explorers enjoyed learning about the importance of caring for our oceans as well as getting surf-fit with Pazzy Pongo!
We thought about why we need a World Ocean Day and the Explorers all talked about how important it is to keep our oceans and beaches clean. We watched a live video clip explaining that we are all interconnected and how we are not separate from nature. This prompted Mabel to say 'we should treat fish how we would like to be treated ourselves'! We are looking forward to finding out more about caring for our oceans when we introduce our next class text 'Somebody Swallowed Stanley' which is about the effect of plastic pollution on sea life.
