Today, Year 5 were lucky enough to have a fire safety talk from a member of Torquay's fire department.
The children were all really engaged in the informative presentation and keen to share their ideas about the role of a firefighter. They learnt about the different jobs the fire department undertake, the importance of calling 999 in an emergency, how to prevent fires, how to respond to a fire and the importance of checking smoke alarms. The children asked lots of insightful questions and reflected on the importance of taking preventative measures - including having a fire safe night time routine! A big thank you to our visitor for such a fantastic morning!
